Today, on SkyNews24, Gianpiero Gramaglia, an expert on
USA politics, commented on the re-election of Obama as President of the United
States. First of all, he noticed that it is the first time, since the election
of Roosevelt, that “A President of the crisis” is re-elected. In you opinion,
why did the American electorate give him
a second chance?
Moreover, it is important to consider that the
Republican party has the majority in the United States House of Representatives. According
to the journalist Gramaglia, the mediation between a Democratic President and a
Republican House of Representatives will be less difficult than in the past two
years, when the Congress made the life difficult for Obama who could not
achieve all his goals and fully realize important reforms. In fact, since it is the last Obama’s mandate,
the House of Representatives does not have anymore to lame him as a possible
future candidate for president; moreover considered the trust that Americans have
shown to Obama, the House of Representatives should be prudent in sight of the
midterm elections. Hopefully this second presidential mandate will see Obama
more free and able to carry on his agenda.
Is Gramaglia right? Will the second mandate of Obama
dissipate the perplexities manifested by the Occupy Movement and other radical
movements? Will be the needs of ordinary people placed above the interests of big
corporations, the financial world and the lobby based on war-profit affairs?

I think that he may have reason. In these four years for Obama it would have been impossible achieve his goals and fully realize reforms in any case. The economic crisis has conditioned the situation. Another big problem is that the same democratic party hasn’t approved many reforms of the Obama’s program. I hope that he can do what he has promised.

Another big problem is that the democratic party itself hasn’t approved many reforms of Obama’s program.
EliminaI agree with Mr. Gramaglia!!
RispondiEliminaIn the 2008-2012 mandate Presidente Obama has put some of his mainly politics aside, especially for tricky economic crisis that has struck the USA, but also for a firm opposition from republicans.
In this second term the President can do what he had promised in the last years with less tactics and to try to reach the pre-arranged goals.
As written in this post, some problems there could be in relation with the midterm elections of 2014, but I think that Republicans will do less opposition than the first electoral mandate.

Slight corrections:
EliminaObama put aside some of his POLICIES DUE TO the economic crisis and also DUE TO firm opposition from Republicans.
I totally agree with Gramaglia, and a long-term program could be more decisive than a short-term planning.
RispondiEliminaThe Republican candidate was weak and not enough convincing on matters of foreign policy.
They lost an election through an abundance of really bad ideas about immigration, about climate, about abortion and other social issues.
A 4 more years mandate for Obama is a second chance, a new opportunity to achieve his goals and realize important changes to arrest the US economic's decline.
This nation, such as Europe, is at a critical point, consequently, the American electorate favoured the current U.S. President over Romney because he suggested new policies closer to benefit the middle class, admitting his past failures from debt to unemployment, from challenges of climate change to terrorism.
It's like they are saying: “You haven't done a good job the first time, but we’re going to give you a second chance!"
